Introductions & firm overview
Alex introduced Emanay's structure (law firm, accounting firm, real estate brokerage, advisory) and explained the program grew out of Dave's own E2 experience relocating from Hamilton to Orlando.
Natalie's background & family situation
Natalie is a social worker coordinating home care for seniors, based in Hamilton, Ontario. She and her husband have two children (14 and 10). Her husband holds chief-executive-level roles in medical sales and intends to seek employment in Florida once relocated.
Target sector & location
Given Natalie's home-care background and her husband's medical sales experience, Alex suggested assisted living facilities or rehab centers as strong-fit sectors. Natalie confirmed a preference for Palm Harbor, with flexibility across the greater Tampa Bay area, and named a target investment of $300K–$400K with $150K+ in annual cash flow, looking for an established business with room to grow.
Program structure & timeline
Dave explained the two visa pathways (consulate route vs. filing from within the U.S.) and recommended the consulate route in Toronto for a definitive outcome. Alex explained the program runs on a milestone basis, moving at the client's pace, and gave a rough best-case timeline of 6–8 weeks once a business is closed and the application package is complete.
Fee disclosure
Alex shared the fee structure on screen and confirmed the total program investment is $50,000, billed on a milestone basis. Natalie asked for this to be sent by email for review.
Cross-border accounting & exit tax
Dave explained the accounting scope (entity structuring, bookkeeping, financial analysis) and the CRA "exit tax" filing required when ceasing Canadian tax residency — the filing itself is included in the program fee; any tax owed is separate and depends on Natalie's financial picture.
